Parent Information
Partnership
Home and school are your child’s two most important worlds and children must bridge these two worlds every day. If home and school are connected in positive and respectful ways, children feel secure. Our teachers work hard to build a true partnership by valuing the family’s role in a child’s education and recognize how much they can accomplish by working with families.
Communication
Open communication is essential in providing children with the best care and education possible. This happens during drop off and pick up times as well as during the day through our parent communication tool, ProCare. Lesson plans, monthly newsletters, reminders, health updates, menus and pictures are all shared via ProCare.
In addition to daily communication, teachers offer Parent-Teacher conferences twice per year for preschool-age children. Conferences offer a wonderful opportunity to celebrate your child’s successes and establish future goals.
Parent Participation
Family involvement is a cornerstone of an educational foundation at HCDC. Parents and grandparents are always welcome to participate or even help lead class activities. Sharing your personal interests and talents in the classroom sends a clear message about the importance of learning to your child. Parents are also invited to serve on the HCDC Board of Directors.
